Description

Romero's homage to Leonardo Da Vinci's "Last Supper" comes both as a celebration of his passing and a fun time with friends. Invited by designers Dolce & Gabbana and Guilherme Siqueira to an exclusive gala in 2018 to the Villa where Da Vinci lived for 25 years in Milan, Romero had the opportunity to celebrate and admire the "Last Supper" at the Santa Maria delle Grazie church. While admiring the painting and in conversation with world renowned collector Ezra Nahmad, both discussed how amazing it would be to see Romero's playful and vibrant version of this iconic painting, to which Nahmad suggested he should call it "The First Supper". This is how this fantastic, colorful and dynamic version of this masterpiece came to be. About the music, Paul Blair says, "The music reflects the visual movement of the painting and tells the story that Romero presented visually. To have a classic church organ that brought through emotions of being in a spiritual place and move out into the sunshine and daylight, and then have this extra part come in just felt inspirational and exciting."
